Years ago I read an article in Country Living on a quaint little store in Ohio called McMaster and Storm. I told myself that I MUST get there someday, but alas, I did not make it before they closed their doors. However, I had heard a rumor that they were setting up at the Country Living Fair in Ohio so I made plans to go and fell in love with Kara Garber's aesthetic (and the fair itself - and as they say, the rest is history)!
It is safe to say I have stalked Kara ever since and convinced her to design and supply the materials for a McMaster and Storm exclusive kit that I could offer my customers. This kit is coming to Mercantile on the 15th and will be full of Kara's treasures, collected from auctions, general stores and the like.
Here's a little peek (and while the scale isn't included, we do offer these often - keep an eye out)! . . .
I wanted to share Kara's bio, in her own words! You can find her Etsy shop here. (Be sure to pick up the heavy duty Italian tiny stapler, with beautiful brass staples)!
Kara is the co-founder of McMaster & Storm, a once upon a time a brick & mortar shop. Then along came babies, so we closed our shop! We continue doing shows and the Etsy shop plus, occasional events at our historic brick farmhouse.
I love old things! The patina and history get me every time. I would much rather peek into decaying building and poke my nose in odd places to dig for old things that take me back in time. Paper ephemera is one of the things I always keep an eye out for.
Forget the mall, let's go to the flea market!

Thanks for introducing her to us. I have to go check out her etsy shop. It sounds like my kinda place. Love that little yellow scale. I found one of those small scales at a flea market for $1.00 last summer.....It was black with the flowers on it. I had never seen one before...Now I see them in your flea market finds from time to time. I think they are so cute. I just love the little things in life!
OHHH yeah!! I will bookmark the 15th now..can't wait to see it. Thanks again for a wonderful class at Scrappy Chic this past week. I took the album with me on a scrapping weekend at Memories Manor in Michigan and added photos and a couple more pages and love how it turned out. SOrry to have missed the Mega Meet and I WILL get to the Country Living show...one day....
