A Vintage Affair at Haven Farm - review!

This is for Lisa (and others who have asked!) - the color in the majority of the house (excluding the dining room in the first photo below) is Thunder by Benjamin Moore.  It is a fantastic neutral and really brightens the white in your moldings/trims.  We still love it -

Well now that I've had a chance to recover a bit (and get my house back together) I wanted to share some photos with you of our event earlier this month.  My photographer and friend Melanie took several shots before the doors opened and during the pre-sale on Friday night.  I'm so glad we had that arranged ahead of time as I KNOW how I get before an event and never get to the picture taking like I should.  She was a life-saver.  So here are a few shots from the night . . .

The entrance room and checkout . . . (and me)!. . .

Some details on the farm table including my favorite cloches on awesome chippy stands that you can't see here - both sold and I miss them already . . .

I've had this old pen and ink for a while now and I thought he could use a little whimsy (the frame he's in is museum worthy - truly beautiful). . .

The two deer mounts here were added for the show, but the really old one in the center of my window frame has been a favorite and being that he fit perfectly in the frame, I plan to keep him for a while. .

Little details in my studio. . .

The butler's pantry dressed with lots of tarnished silver. . .

My sweet friend Gennifer enjoying her wine! . . .

Our awesome office manager Aubrey and her mother-in-law.  I can't believe after all of this time that this is the first photo I've had of her to post - geez . . .

A reunion with my very dear friends and former JBS co-workers - Nancy, Renee and Melissa. . .

My most favorite creation of the entire show . . . an all white Made In Japan Christmas house display complete with trees, snow and flickering lights presented in an antique glass fronted bookcase top. . .

This handmade Christmas house found a new home - it was truly one-of-a-kind. ..
A few month's ago I purchased a mid-century, hand-cranked stencil machine.  I put it to good use here, making stencil signs presented in vintage baby shoes with boxwood. . .

Amidst the hard work I must tell you how much fun this was.  After years of setting up booths with dirt floors (and uneven at that), tent backdrops and inclement weather it was so refreshing to have my own home as a setting AND to take my time with the details.  It also made me re-think, re-arrange and inject new items into my decor that I would not have done otherwise.  I imagine with each show, my day-to-day decor will continue to change!  We are already planning our 1st show of 2015 in April.  Look for that announcement soon.

Happy Thursday!

Jenni,
I loved your house and show! I bought one of the cliches and I love it! Could you please share with me your paint color in the kitchen, so pretty. And I really like the open shelves. Thanks, Lisa

Melanie did a great job documenting your in-home show. However, she made me very jealous I wasn't able to make it. I look forward to your next Haven Farm event so I can start planning a road trip!
