Those unsightly, modern gaming systems. . .
Although I haven't quite mastered the art of hiding the systems themselves and all of their wires, I have come up with some creative ways to hide some of the accessories like this here ammunition basket (or at least that is what I was told it was).
It was a basket, it was old, and it had numbers on it - that's all I needed to know!
What happened to wooden toy trains and blocks?
Anyone else have some creative storage ideas to share??

Great Idea, now if we could only find a way to hide the drums too!!
I have a similar basket, and yes, it IS an ammunition basket:) My original intent was to store rolls of wrapping paper in mine, but right now it's empty. As long as we're on the topic of creative storage.....any ideas for LEGOS?
Great idea ! I have all the gaming stuff in a ikea footstool.
Ugh I HATE how all the gaming consoles/wires/accessories/etc look in my home!! What to do? You came up with a great solution. I keep all of our Wii remotes and accessories in a basket as well.
I like the footstool idea. Made me think of an old trunk with the trays, maybe add wheels that you could roll it close to the tv when not in use to avoid the wires stretching accoss the floor. Yes, those wires are quiet annoying. Love that ammunition basket...Very nice piece.

this is exactly what I do...everything pretty much gets stored or hidden is baskets, old stackable wooden boxes and bins, and pretty vintage jars...I just LOVE them!!
I have that same basket! Yes, it's an ammunition basket - saw on on the cover of Country Living once. I have even found ammo to fit it but dh wouldn't let me cart it home. :( My basket has vintage patriotic things, including family pieces from WWI and II.
Hmmm... way better than my idea of just leaning it behind the TV!!! I have an old crock that probably would do the trick. It holds croquet mallets in the summer!
What a great idea!
I love your basket for the gaming stuff :) I am looking for some kind of cool/nice looking storage for gaming stuff myself, an old wooden box or something. The basket was a good idea ;)
I usually just leave stuff in the store where it can't bother me. Mine are still pretty young though. That method won't work forever I'm afraid. :) Until then, Ikea still works for most of their toys.
