My new favorite technique. . .
I have loved playing with my new Ranger Inks and Paints and in particular have been experimenting with my Rub-Ons and the ink. You may have heard that scotch tape can pull up a Rub-On (comes in handy if you get a stray piece in the wrong place)! So. . .
I applied a section of my Butterfly Book Page Rub-On Single onto cardstock. . .
I then used a blending tool and my Stick Candy Ink Pad to add some ink over it. Of course the Rub-On acts as a mask against the ink so when I applied scotch tape to random areas of the Rub-On, this is what I got. . .

Now I just need to apply it to my next class/project. Hoping to find time to play in my studio tomorrow! Here's to a weekend of you doing the same!

Jenni,

I love this too...so pretty! I had a great time at your Vintagefest and you and Jared are both wonderful! Your new house is beautiful and I really enjoyed our time there. Thanks to everyone, including all of the gals that helped! I mentioned the pretty bracelet from Silver Bella....go to Teresa MacFayden's blog and she showed hers on the Dec 8 post. It is really pretty.

I can't believe this is the first time someone has mentioned the trick about tape taking up a rub on. That could have saved me SO much time in the past. I love the tip AND the technique. Thanks so much!

Good Morning!
What a GREAT idea ! Can you believe it? I am serious.... I have never used a rub-on. Boy, talk about perfect timing, on this great idea! Now the pressure is off! Besides, it will just make it look more "old fashioned" on PURPOSE! Thanks so much!

This looks very cool. Jenni, you are the Queen of Innovation...way ahead of anyone else. I've been experimenting a lot lately using vinyl words as masks. I'm gonna have to try your idea with the rub-ons and tape. TFS.
