In love with labels. . .

I'm not sure why or when it started, but for a very longtime now I have collected anything to do with vintage labels, particularly old apothecary jars. These are my only amber colored examples, but I have a rather large collection of the clear jars with labels under glass on my mantel. I also have a large collection of Dennison labels (and share them fairly often in the kits at Mercantile).

This also reminds me of the classic "It's a Wonderful Life" and how my heart skips a bit in the beginning when they show the back of the General Store (ever notice the apothecary bottles lined up on the shelves)?? Ah. . .one of my favorite Christmas memories (ha)!

Love these Jenni. Since dh and I are both pharmacists, we catch every apothecary scene in every movie. I used to work in an old store that was kept pretty much as original, with the tin ceilings, all the old apothecary jars, and big counters.

The dispensing lab and building where I went to school was pretty "old-fasioned" too. You can imagine my disappointment when I went back for a visit and found that they had torn it down and modernized to whole thing! The secretary told me "Your going to LOVE the new building." But I said to myself "I don't think so!"

I love these. I notice bottles in most movies - another favorite is in Down with love, there's a wall of gorgeous multi-colored bottles.
