Treasure Hunt. . .

I found this photo I never posted from October with some treasures I found at the mile long yard sale in Watertown (recognize the extra large lotto cards)????

I am missing the "hunt". December is a very slow estate sale/auction month. January begins to pick back up, but only a bit. It is Flea Market weekend but alas, it is snowing AGAIN! Kid's are out of school, again. I don't feel like I've seen the sun in weeks. I think a little tear is forming as I type . . . (just kidding)!

Going to check the weather now - hoping the sun comes out tomorrow and melts it all!

Does this winter seem a little brutal, or is it just me (at least for us southerners')??

a little brutal??? tonight in Minnesota it will be 14 degrees below zero....yes, below zero....so cold your eyes hurt when you go out....and the snow cliffs on each corner in the city are so high it is getting dangerous to drive...hard to know when to pull out on to busy streets cuz you see nothing either direction but snow. enough already...and our snowiest months are yet to come....

so bring on cheery colors and photos of warm fun days on the hunt...happy scrapping!

I completely agree! We were stationed near Boise last year and now we are near Knoxville, and I swear..last year's winter ain't got nuthin' on this year's! Never in a million years did I think I would see just as much snow in the south as I did up north! Hope it warms up for us all very soon!

Brutal indeed. And I'm over it. I could never live somewhere like Minnesota...man, that is a lot of snow. And we are just talking inches here and it is brutal I tell ya!! Love the pic of your finds. You are a good treasure hunter and you have inspired me to look at things in a different way. Hope you get to flea market!

I'm originally from Michigan and I have seen me some snow. This isn't as much snow, or as cold as northern winters, but it's brutal in the sense of preparedness of our southern road crews and even our individual families. I had extra coats, boots and lots of outer wear growing up. Here...my kids have A pair of boots and A pair of mittens. We can't afford to adjust to heavy winters when they may or may not even happen. The same goes for TDOT and salt/brine supplies for our state. Horrible winter conditions...no, brutal...sure.
