Our little piece of heaven. . .

So back in October we settled on our own "Green Acres" here in Mt. Juliet. 6 acres to start with the hopes to purchase more of the land beside us when the family is ready to sell. So amazing to think that we will drive through this entrance to our home someday. We are so looking forward to the process. I actually bought a pair of antique doors from Scarlet in December with the original old bubble glass panels for my studio entrance. I keep trying to explain to Jared that these things don't just "appear" when you are ready to install them. You have to collect over time (he is coming around). We don't plan to break ground until late this year or early next. I have that much time at least to figure out how to preserve the environment for the two large horned owls that live there (beautiful!) and find someone who can preserve the entrance for me.

I really have aspirations to be a better blogger, but something has to give in my schedule each week and it is usually that! I would make it a new year's resolution, but I would probably have better luck doing it if I didn't (since it seems I NEVER keep them - i.e. my gym membership). So, for now I will just wish to be better. . .

I am getting ready to work on my gallery stuff. Bought a couple of new CD's last night at Best Buy to help the process along (Citizen Cope, Corinne Bailey Rae, Keith Urban, and Augustana - a very eclectic mix, kinda like my scrapbooking)!

I will post what I come up with this week as well as a note about the guest designer. . . Have a great night!

What a beautiful entrance. Don't you wish those old entry columns could talk and tell you all about their history?? I am so excited for you because this is identical to a dream of mine. I hope you build your own personal "Tara." I also get the idea of buy it now when it comes to those old items. I have an oversized 2 car garage and I have adapted that mentality about some old things I am seeing now. If some day my car has to move to the driveway, so be it - at least I will have my treasures!! Congratulations again!

Jenni,

The property is beautiful! I love that old entrance and totally see why you'd want to keep it!

My dad used to own 6 scenic acres that had a neat entrance (though not as grand as yours). Sure reminded me of his place, though. He's gone now and the property long since sold... your photo sure took me down memory lane - I miss him so!

Hey, you'll have to post a pic of those doors soon, too. I'm sure they are wonderful!

P. S. The link where you bought the doors didn't work. Will you post the store name?
